2010 Friends of Agriculture
Ohio Farm Bureau's public policy staff and Agriculture for Good Government Political Action Committee (AGGPAC) routinely monitor the voting records and policy initiatives of Ohio's elected officials both at the state and national levels.
Members of our state General Assembly and candidates running in open seats for election to the General Assembly are considered for the Friend of Agriculture Award while members of Ohio's Congressional delegation and candidates running for open Congressional seats are considered for the Friend of Farm Bureau Award.
In races where a current elected official is running for re-election, the incumbent's voting record on Ohio Farm Bureau Key Votes and working relationship with the Ohio Farm Bureau and county Farm Bureau(s) within the legislative district will serve as the criteria for bestowing the award.
In open seat races where neither candidate is up for re-election to the office, an interview will be conducted by county Farm Bureau leaders from within the legislative district and a recommendation by the county leaders to AGGPAC will serve as the basis for determining which candidate is designated a "Friend."
Recipients of the 2010 Friend of Agriculture and Friend of Farm Bureau Awards will be posted to this page in late summer or early fall as the General Election season approaches.
