Requesting an Absentee Ballot
Ohio now has what is called "no fault" absentee ballot voting, which simply means you don't have to give any special reason to vote absentee when requesting your absentee ballot. All registered voters have the right to vote absentee for any reason if they so desire.
Absentee voting guarantees that you won't have to wait in long lines or face other obstacles like simply running out of time to make it to the polls on election day. Instead, all you have to do is click here to download a simple form that you can complete and mail to your county board of elections office. Once received, the county board of elections office will mail you an absentee ballot for you to complete at your own pace in the comfort of your home or office where you can take time to research and review the candidates and issues on your ballot. Once you've marked your ballot, simply mail or drop it off at your county board of elections office and your vote will be counted on election night along with everyone who goes to the polls throughout election day.
