Welcome to Ohio Farm Bureau's Election Headquarters

Election 2010 Preview:

Ohio has long been recognized as a swing state and bellwether of national politics.  In fact the phrase “so goes Ohio, so goes the nation” is commonly used by political pundits and strategists to describe the outcome of Ohio elections.  As the nation slowly recovers from a major economic downturn, Ohio will again be in the national spotlight as voters express their approval or disapproval of the President and Congress’ policies through their choice of state and federal candidates in this year’s mid-term elections.  The following Ohio offices are all up for grabs in 2010:

·         Governor

·         Lt. Governor

·         Auditor

·         Attorney General

·         Secretary of State

·         Treasurer

·         2 Associate Justices of the Ohio Supreme Court

·         Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court

·         One of Ohio’s two U.S. Senate seats

·         All 18 seats in Ohio’s Delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives

·         ˝ of the Ohio Senate seats (odd numbered districts)

·         All 99 seats in the Ohio House of Representatives

In addition to statewide and legislative races, Ohioans will elect most county officials including county commissioners, auditors, clerks of courts, recorders, treasurers, and sheriffs.  Numerous local and statewide issues are in various stages of development and many will likely appear on Ohio ballots in both the May 4th Primary and November 2nd General Elections.
